Requirements
macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
Capturing doesn't work or the screenshot is blank
HweeShot needs Screen Recording permission to capture your screen.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.
- Turn on HweeShot.
- Quit and reopen HweeShot, since macOS applies the change on the next launch.
Starting a capture
Click the HweeShot icon in the menu bar and choose Capture Region, or use the keyboard shortcut (default ⌃⇧4). You can change it in Settings.
Free and Pro
HweeShot is free to download. HweeShot Pro is a one-time, lifetime In-App Purchase that unlocks Cartoon art, Collage and removes the watermark. There is no subscription.
Restore a previous purchase
If you reinstall the app or move to a new Mac, open HweeShot and use Restore Purchase in the Pro screen. Sign in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy Policy
HweeShot is built to work on your Mac, on your terms. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data.
What stays on your device
- Screenshots and images. Everything you capture, import, annotate or export is processed locally on your Mac. Images are never uploaded to us or any third party.
- Settings. Your preferences (such as shortcut and save location) are stored locally on your Mac.
Permissions we use
- Screen Recording. Needed only to take the screenshots you ask for. HweeShot does not record video and does not capture anything in the background.
- Files and Pictures folder. Used only to open and save images in locations you choose.
- Clipboard. Used only when you copy an image or paste one into HweeShot.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party SDKs.
- No crash reports sent by the app.
Purchases
The Pro upgrade is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or Apple Account information. We only learn from Apple's StoreKit, on your device, whether Pro is unlocked. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
HweeShot does not collect data from anyone, including children.
